Under Construction
The Universal Life Church
The ULC was founded in 1959 by Reverand Kirby J. Hensley in Modesto, California. It was founded on only two basic tenents:
Since 1959, Reverand Hensley's small church and congregation,
the one pictured above, has grown to have Ministries in all fifty states
and many countries around the world. The Universal Life Church
has offered fellowship and membership to anyone whose spiritual needs are
not met, or are limited by the stricter doctines and dogma of the major
organized religions they've experienced. After serving
as a minister for over 20 years, Rev. Hensley realized that many
good, kind, and spiritual people were put off by the demand of most religions
that it's members adhere to the sometimes ridgid and narrow dogma
of each religion's doctine. In most churches and organized religion,
there is no real place for one who doubts, or who differs even slightly
in belief. So many good people who were not without faith of
some kind, some with strong religious beliefs; were being denied
the comfort and fellowship, and the legitimacy of an organized, established
church. Denied of it simply because they couldn't, or didn't,
believe or agree with all of the doctrine of any one church.
Sorry. Still Under Construction
Remember, patience is still a virtue here,
it's just not strictly required.
